The challenge
Two recurring jobs were eating the owner's time and inviting mistakes at Elysian's five restaurants.
Weekly sales reporting. Every week, someone had to export point-of-sale reports from the Veloce POS for each of the five locations, then rebuild each location's performance tracker by hand: server upsells, limited-time-offer sales, and average visit value. That took about 5 hours a week.
Month-end accounting. Every month, payment data from the POS had to be reconciled and entered into QuickBooks Online as journal entries and sales receipts, location by location. That took about 20 hours a month.
Neither job needed the owner's judgment for most of the work. Both pulled the owner away from running the restaurants.
What Daily Solutions built
Weekly sales performance trackers
Each week, the Veloce POS exports sales data for all five locations. An automation built with Claude Code reads every location at once and updates each location's master workbook, with Summary, Upsell, Limited-Time-Offer and Average Visit views.
It applies the franchise's own business rules automatically. For example, it separates each server's real performance from delivery and third-party ordering channels. Every run takes a backup and checks its own output, so the trackers stay trustworthy week to week.
Month-end accounting in QuickBooks Online
A script pulls the month's payment data from the POS and prepares a structured summary for each location. Claude then works from that summary and posts the month's journal entries and sales receipts directly into QuickBooks Online, through MCP connectors that link Claude to each of the franchise's QuickBooks companies.
The script handles the data preparation and Claude handles the posting. A manual, error-prone reconciliation became a repeatable month-end routine.
Before and after
| Workflow | Before | Now | Time saved per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weekly sales reporting | ~5 hours a week of manual exports and spreadsheet rebuilding | Runs automatically each week across all five locations | ~260 hours |
| Month-end accounting | ~20 hours a month of manual reconciliation and data entry | Claude posts the month's entries into QuickBooks Online from a prepared summary | ~240 hours |
| Total | Two workflows, five locations, in production since May 2026 | ~500 hours | |
How we calculated this: 5 hours a week × 52 weeks = 260 hours, plus 20 hours a month × 12 months = 240 hours. The labour value of $12,000–15,000 CAD a year values those 500 hours at $24–30 an hour.
How it runs
The work was built to fit the tools the team already used, not to replace them. Lightweight scripts handle data preparation. Claude handles the steps that need judgment, and it connects to the franchise's systems through MCP connectors.
Our approach
Daily Solutions starts where a business already is. We connect Claude to the systems a team already trusts and automate the highest-friction work first. Then we build in reliability, with backups, verification and explicit business rules, so the automation keeps running without supervision.
